We are looking for a new Business Planning and Policy Manager, who will work as part of the Strategy and Transformation department, reporting to the Head of Planning Performance and Risk.

Our Business Planning and Policy Manager will support planning across the business and will play a key role in the promotion and delivery of our strategy.

Working hours: 35 hours per week - Monday - Friday.

Hybrid role: Home working, with travel to the London and Horsham offices as required.

What a day might look like for you

As Business Planning and Policy Manager, you will provide advice and guidance to help develop credible plans and implement our strategy.

You will work collaboratively across the organisation to understand our performance against the strategy through reporting and utilising data and insights.

We've added a short summary of what the role entails; for a full insight please refer to the attached job description but in a nutshell, you will:

• Support the Head of Performance, Planning and Risk with the preparation, submission and negotiation of all types of planning, monitoring and evaluation of the performance of plans.
• Work with the Project Management Office to support the development and identification of new business opportunities.
• Manage our policy framework and governance, with regular reviews of key organisational policies across the RSPCA.
• Manage the continued development of systems, processes and ways of working to enable effective planning and performance reporting.
• Plan and deliver internal communications activity to support the business to understand the business plan through quarterly corporate performance reporting.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting, communications and effective engagement of key stakeholders.
• Develop and communicate the policy management framework, ensuring that essential guidelines and documentation is in place.

What makes a great Business Planning and Policy Manager?

Stakeholder management and relationship-building skills are essential to the success of this role, as is the ability to make a quick impact and to engage colleagues and 'bring them with you on the journey'.

You must also have proven experience of:

• Building and maintaining good working relationships across an organisation at all levels.
• Working collaboratively to implement cultural and behavioural changes within the organisation.
• Liaising with and managing stakeholders at various levels.
• Change management and stakeholder engagement.
• Dependency mapping to future-proof corporate planning anticipate potential roadblocks.
• Leading projects.
• Planning; with an ability to create and communicate plans at all levels, whilst facilitating an understanding and winning support for delivery.
• Working with a variety of IT software and hardware systems.

Along with a proven:

• Ability to find solutions and adapt your approach to arrive at a successful outcome.
• Ability to make clear, timely and considered decisions.
• Communication skills; including influencing, negotiating and relationship-building skills.
