Business Support Officer
- Hourly Rate: £13.15 PAYE

We are seeking a Business Support Officer to provide high-quality administrative and business support primarily to the Director of Development and the wider Development team at Great Britain’s national library. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient operation and management within the team.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide proactive administrative support to the Director of Development, including daily management of diaries using MS Outlook Calendar.
- Arrange and coordinate both virtual and onsite meetings, ensuring all necessary materials and refreshments are prepared.
- Handle sensitive material with discretion, including copying, dispatching, and filing correspondence and papers.
- Act as a central point of contact for the Development team, managing communications via telephone and email, and handling incoming and outgoing mail.
- Support the team with various office duties such as maintaining and updating files and records, booking travel, making hotel reservations, processing claims, and ordering office supplies.
- Assist with financial administration tasks like processing GPC statements and raising requisitions in Business World.
- Provide support for home working setups, including ordering new equipment and managing service calls.
- Assist with the induction of new starters, guiding them through administrative processes and systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in administrative or business support roles.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to act as a point of contact for a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Outlook for diary management.
- Experience handling sensitive information discreetly.
- Ability to adapt to changing demands and last-minute requests.
- Previous experience in a business support role within Arts / Culture would be ideal
