We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to become a valued member of our dynamic team within the UK Support Function (UKSF) on a 12 month fixed term contract. 

Salary: Circa £26,000 - £28,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

The UK Support Function (UKSF) prides itself on high levels of team spirit and strives towards creating an inclusive environment, where our teams can develop and grow within a supportive working culture. Working as a Business Support Officer (BSO) alongside the Manufacturing teams based at Stevenage and Henlow, you will provide administrative and operational support to the Head of Manufacturing Henlow (Live Build & Explosives Facility) and Head of Manufacturing Stevenage (Prototype & Development Facility), plus team members, as detailed below, but not limited to:

The Role - specific requirements

  • To interface with Customers and stakeholders, to include organisation and interaction during tours at our Henlow site

  • To be an active part in supporting new starters and facilitating inductions

  • To provide pro-active, accurate and comprehensive administrative support to the Senior Management team members

  • Create and maintain MS Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, MS One Note and MS Word documents accurately

  • Understanding and utilising MS Office and MBDA systems

  • These tasks may be varied and ad-hoc in scope

  • Must be flexible to work both at Stevenage and Henlow site, ideally 4 days a week at either site and one day working from home

  • Experience of managing complex diaries, extensive travel arrangements and expenses

  • Experience of organising meetings, events, training days, participate when required and take and manage actions

  • Participation in UK Support Function initiatives and personal development initiatives

  • Someone who can exhibit a high level of resilience, communication, organisation skills and attention to detail, which is key to success in this role

  • Someone who is forward thinking, who looks to improve efficiencies in working practices and processes

  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage your own workload effectively

  • Willingness to learn and extend the role above and beyond the job description

  • To develop to become the knowledge point of contact within the team
