Buy-to-Let Underwriting Manager (BTL) Key Accountabilities

• Full responsibility for designing, managing, embedding, and delivering the credit risk management framework and procedures ensuring best practise installed within the underwriting procedures.
• Deputise for Lending Operations Director as and when required
• Management and development of underwriting team to case manage loans from inception to completion.
• Ensure SLAs are maintained and exceeded
• Develop and promote clear standards of performance within underwriting which support the Company Training and Competency Policy
• Implement required training and ensure adequate records of staff training and competence are maintained
• System owner of BTL origination platform which will include helping develop effective systems and processes, providing specifications and UAT
• Mandated to approve high value loans
• Development of highly skilled and competent underwriting team and robust credit risk framework.
• Implement effective underwriting controls across all processes and procedures which minimises the risk of error and promotes compliant and robust underwriting decisions
• Internal and external quality assurance checking identifies no material issues

Buy-to-Let Underwriting Manager (BTL) Knowledge & Qualifications

• A strong understanding of FCA regulation
• Extensive experience of underwriting
• CeMAP qualified would be advantageous but is not essential
