We are looking for an Operations Buyer to join our Procurement team. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, the successful candidate will lead day-to-day procurement and supplier management activities. The role requires ensuring timely and complete delivery of materials and services to meet MRP demand, and a professional approach to stakeholder and supplier management tasks. This a full time role and offers a 4 day working week, with Fridays off!
Day to Day of the role:
- Raise Purchase orders for goods, materials, and services in line with MRP and non-stock business demand.
- Analyse stock usage to ensure resource and stock holding decisions align with business needs.
- Proactively work within the MRP system, utilising reports and supplier information to provide visibility of supply issues.
- Provide up-to-date material cost information based on supplier quotes, negotiating best prices and ensuring accurate product quotations.
- Complete new costing requests to support sales function demand.
- Achieve annualised productivity targets to support fiscal year plans.
- Develop supplier relationships and ensure supplier KPIs are met in collaboration with the Senior Operations Buyer.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proven background in developing strong relationships with suppliers.
- Determined character with a results-oriented approach and the ability to achieve objectives.
- Supply Chain experience (preferably 3+ years).
- Experience in negotiating with suppliers.
- Proficient in ERP systems.
