Buyer Procurement Leicester Office based Monday-Friday SF Recruitment have a great opportunity to join one of our fantastic clients in Leicester. They are a family run business and are looking for a Buyer to join their Procurement team. This is an exciting role to join a fast-paced team. This is a full-time permanent role with a salary for this role is up to £35,000 depending upon experience. Suitable candidates will come from a Procurement background and have experience liaising with suppliers, negotiating lead times and raising Purchase orders. You will need excellent communication skills to regularly communicate with Suppliers and internal colleagues. The primary responsibility of this role will be to ensure efficient purchasing of all components and services required by the company, maintaining cost-effectiveness. - Proactive approach to sourcing new and alternative suppliers. - To develop new tools, implementing methodology to monitor, maintain and track supplier performance and inventory levels. - To optimise the supply chain to deliver an excellent service to production and the customer. - Ensure timely placement of all purchase orders for predetermined requirements using the company's ERP system and reports. - Actively lead and contribute to the development and implementation of inventory reduction and cost saving initiatives. - The purchase of materials and inventory planning is effectively overseen and optimised. - Communication with Sales and Engineering departments. - Effective liaison with suppliers and potential suppliers to ensure quality standards are consistently met. - First line holiday/absence cover for Planning/Stores function. - Continued compliance to ISO 9001 and any other certification as appropriate. Key Duties - Previous experience within a Procurement role ideally in a manufacturing setting - Expediting orders whilst using negotiation techniques to improve lead times where necessary - Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers - A track record of continuous improvement. The Person - Excellent communication skills - Previous purchasing/supply chain experience - Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems - Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel in particular - Problem solver - Analytical thinker It is essential you have worked in a similar role before .You will also need to have experience using MRP/ERP systems and feel comfortable using Excel as this is required on a daily basis.
