Buyer - Home Textiles

£40,000 - £45,000 plus benefits

Wilmslow - Hybrid Working

Our client is a leading textiles manufacturer, supplying UK High Street retailers, Major Supermarkets and Online retailers. They now have a fantastic opportunity for a Buyer to join the business focusing on the Home category.

You will be a seasoned Buyer in home category, with the credibility to make a significant impact to ambitious commercial targets whilst also ensuring products meet the current and future needs of the consumers. Knowledge of sourcing filled bedding is essential, and you will have strong experience in buying for the home category.

Key Responsibilities

• Help develop new products and sources to ensure we are leading with innovative and differentiated products.
• Manage the supply base to ensure we the best commercial terms and supply security.
• Be well versed in engineering product to meet commercial price-point.
• Up to speed with market developments comparative shops, products, prices.
• Integrate the product into the total business, from marketing through NPD to sales.
• Champion the category and ensure it is available across all sales channels.

Key Skills and Experience

• Experience in buying.
• Experience in filled bedding buying / finished goods is essential. This includes pillows, duvets, toppers, protectors.
• Strong negotiation skills with experience in leading negotiations and track record of achieving continuous margin improvement.
• Experience of sourcing from overseas factories, particularly China, Pakistan and India.
• Strong commercial approach with consumer perspective to source innovative product.
• Experience in working with brand and commercial teams in the development process.
• Highly organised and able to work on multiple projects at the same time.
• Reactive, able to work at a fast pace to tight deadlines and under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Independent and a self-starter.
• Enthusiastic and energetic.
