Dovetail Recruitment are proud to be working with an innovative business in the local area who are recruiting for a new Buyer to join them, and work across their foods category. This role will continue to evolve as the business does, and may include line management in future. The Buyer will need a strong understanding of food product lifecycles, costings, and food manufacturing processes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies to ensure an efficient and cost-effective diverse supplier base.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers and our internal technical team to maintain adherence to quality standards and compliance with a clear focus on cost targets and production timelines.
  • Support the UK product teams with new products into the market by overseeing the product development process, from concept to production.
  • Conduct critical path analysis to optimise the supply chain and minimize lead lines.
  • Implement and maintain effective communication channels with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and collaboration across the group.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reducing costs.
  • With the team understand market trends, competitor activities and global economic factors to make informed business recommendations.
  • Play a pivotal role in resolving issue, queries and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Pro-active and strategic supplier management

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to travel regularly around UK and Europe
  • Strong experience in a buying position within the food industry
  • Strategic and able to take the lead on continuous improvement
