Job Description :
The RoleThe buyer role is a full time, permanent position offering hybrid working.The key responsibilities of the buyer include:
  • Accurately raising purchase orders through system
  • Confidently liaising with suppliers building strong relationships
  • Building accurate set of cost data and price lists for chosen suppliers 
  • Provide Order Fulfilment, Supplier Quotations, Tender/Bid Analysis, Supplier Relationship Management etc
  • Manage quote analysis, negotiation, supplier selection, orders placements and delivery requirement
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement including process and technology issues 
  • Liaise with Production, Stores and Purchasing in determining appropriate production and stock levels
The BusinessNigel Wright Supply Chain is pleased to be working with a well established design-led manufacturing business based in the Newcastle area to recruit a Buyer to join their procurement team.The Client will support a mix of office-based- and home-working.The IndividualThe core attributes for the buyer include:
  • Experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment 
  • Good level of computer literacy with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Proactive approach and ability to manage own workload
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • The ability to understand and apply commercial and financial principles, including cost v price, profit, budget control
