The RoleThe buyer role is a full time, permanent position offering hybrid working.The key responsibilities of the buyer include:
- Accurately raising purchase orders through system
- Confidently liaising with suppliers building strong relationships
- Building accurate set of cost data and price lists for chosen suppliers
- Provide Order Fulfilment, Supplier Quotations, Tender/Bid Analysis, Supplier Relationship Management etc
- Manage quote analysis, negotiation, supplier selection, orders placements and delivery requirement
- Identifying opportunities for improvement including process and technology issues
- Liaise with Production, Stores and Purchasing in determining appropriate production and stock levels

The IndividualThe core attributes for the buyer include:
- Experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment
- Good level of computer literacy with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Proactive approach and ability to manage own workload
- Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- The ability to understand and apply commercial and financial principles, including cost v price, profit, budget control
