We are seeking a motivated Buyer with the energy and drive to make a significant impact on our operations. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of specific spend areas, contributing to the efficient and effective functioning of our department.

The role:

You’ll be responsible for the procurement of direct and indirect categories, managing supplier relationships, and supporting the transformation of our Procurement department. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and charismatic individual eager to learn and grow within the role.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the effective procurement of direct and indirect categories, negotiating improved supplier terms and pricing.
• Identify and assess new supply options for current and upcoming purchasing requirements.
• Manage supplier relationships, including quality and supply issues, to enhance supplier performance and build successful partnerships.
• Support the transformation of the Procurement department by analysing and improving internal purchasing processes.
• Assist the Senior Manager in data gathering and key analysis for key spend areas.
• Raise and control purchase orders efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate processes.
• Maintain data on the SAP system and develop the Contract Register into an effective repository.
• Interface with key stakeholder departments such as Stores, Production, and Finance.
• Provide excellent customer service to suppliers and stakeholders, resolving inquiries promptly.
• Generate and maintain department reports, conduct market research, and monitor price movements and term changes.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Procurement within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems is desirable.
• Proven track record of cost improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• A-Level or equivalent (HNC or higher preferred).
• CIPS qualification or currently studying for CIPS (preferred).
