Buyer - Fawkes and Reece : Job Details

Fawkes & Reece South are working with an established and growing contractor that works on civil engineering and groundworks projects on behalf of main contractors throughout the South of England. They are currently looking to add another Buyer to their procurement department as they've recently had a successful year.

As a Buyer you will be reporting to the Procurement Director and your role will be to build on current and establish new relationships with the supply chain. You will work closely various teams such as production teams, commercial department and suppliers to ensure materials are sourced at competitive prices and projects are sufficiently resourced.

You will be involved in (but not limited to):

• Responsible for material procurement for several on-going projects
• Obtaining and negotiating quotes /prices from various suppliers
• Working closely with the project team to ensure orders are placed in line with programme
• Attend internal co-ordination meetings for on-going projects
• Regular reporting of project costs against tender
• Control all purchasing administration and ensure all transactions are completed and recorded correctly
• Managing any potential supply problems and work to find solutions

Requirements including skills and qualifications:

Experience working in a purchasing or buying experience within civil engineering/construction or an similar industry

Be a natural problem solver and be able to use initiative to find solutions

Good attention to detail required

Effective communication skills

Candidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work in the UK
