CAD Technician - Solid People : Job Details

CAD Technician Permanent Full-TimeSalary - Circa £36,000 DOELocation - In office, LondonWe're excited to be supporting a leading specialist in the design and manufacture of interior spaces for commercial and residential lifts. Due to ongoing demand for their services, they are now seeking a motivated CAD Technician who is a competent CAD modeller using SolidWorks, but other packages will also be considered i.e. Solid Edge, Fusion 360 or Inventor etc. Having a background in designing for sheet metal products from aluminium, steel and stainless is hugely beneficial, as this incorporates a large portion of their manufacturing process from folding, bending and cutting Responsibilities, but are not limited to

• Producing technical drawings from both their own designs and re-engineering customers drawings
• Ability to use a wide range of Microsoft Office packages particularly in the areas of Word, Excel and Outlook
• Reviewing customer drawings for feasibility
• Aiding customers with product design
• Liaising with customers to modify drawings to suit manufacturing processes
• Produce 2D & 3D drawings of components for in house use
• Liaise with factory manager on new parts to meet requirements
• Liaise with production departments to meet new part development requirements

Experiences required

• Competent CAD modelling using SolidWorks or similar: Inventor, Fusion 360, Solid Edge, Creo, CATIA, Siemens NX
• Produce detailed production drawing packs for manufacture (DFM & DFMA)
• Worked within a manufacturing or production environment
• Can create detailed annotated GAs (General Arrangements) drawings
• Design knowledge for either: sheet metal, metalwork, joinery, upholstery or glazing
• Able to create detailed Architectural drawings
• Understanding of the Lift Industry, but not essential
