Job Description :

A fast paced services business looking for an experienced and highly motivated Capital Accounting Manager to join our Finance team and help drive our financial management practices forward. You will focus on key investment projects across the business and working closely with Project Managers, alongside being a key player in the transformation of systems and change within the business.

As the Capital Accounting Manager, you will oversee the accounting processes related to capital expenditure (CapEx) for major development and improvement projects. You will play a key role in ensuring the accurate recording and reporting of capital projects, as well as providing expert financial support for investment decisions and the management of large-scale projects. You will manage the fixed assets and depreciation process for the business and be heavily involved in a new finance system implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of capital accounting for ongoing and future developments averaging around 5 million pound spend.
  • Prepare and review financial reports related to capital expenditure, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Work closely with project managers, procurement, and senior leadership to ensure financial controls and budgeting for capital projects are adhered to.
  • Support the preparation of business cases, financial forecasting, and long-term planning for significant investment projects.
  • Provide technical advice on capital accounting treatments, asset capitalization, and depreciation.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls and procedures to ensure best practices in capital project accounting.

What We're Looking For:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience in capital accounting, financial management, and project finance, ideally in a large-scale infrastructure environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, particularly in relation to capital expenditure and asset management.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting and managing large and complex projects.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
