Our London Office is currently recruiting for a Finance and Capital Assistant (12-month FTC) to undertake a mixed role across partner affairs and tax matters. This is an opportunity to work with a growing team of tax and accounting professionals.  The team works across the Europe, Middle East and Asia region (“EMEA”) and is responsible for providing tax advisory and compliance services to the firm and assisting across all Partner tax, accounting and financial matters.

The Team

The Partner Affairs and Tax team are part of the Finance team which has a vision to enable Norton Rose Fulbright to fulfill its business strategy and its mission of excellent client service. Finance provides services and information that enable management control of the business, including day to day decision support and effective custody of the Firm’s resources. Finance works proactively with the business to develop and deliver business strategies as a key business advisor adding value beyond the provision of information.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of partner capital;
    • preparation of loan documentation for new partner capital loans
    • tracking partner responses to information requests
    • monthly capital account reconciliations
    • posting partner capital movement in SAP
    • repayment of loans
    • being first point of contact for lenders
    • monitoring of headroom levels for each lender
    • provision of cash flow forecasts
    • updating monthly capital slide pack
  • Onboarding new partner tax forms
  • Setting up and preparation for new partner orientation meetings for all newly promoted or lateral hire Partners
  • Preparation of mortgage reference letters to confirm income levels for Partners for lenders
  • Managing the annual Global Tax Questionnaire sent to partners
  • Maintenance of Partner worksite files capturing all new and retiring partner movements
  • Maintenance of India and Indonesia workday trackers
  • Assisting with annual Current Account statements to all partners
  • Assisting the Partner Affairs and Tax team with various projects and operational and administrative tasks

Skills and Experience Required

  • Extremely well organized with a close attention to detail (Essential)
  • Intermediate or above Microsoft Excel skills (Essential)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Powerpoint (Essential)
  • Ability to interact with senior stakeholders in a professional and eloquent manner (Essential)
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and manage own workload to work accurately under pressure to ensure deadlines are met (Essential)
  • High and focused energy levels and a flexible approach (Essential)
  • Previous experience working in a Finance team (Desirable)
  • Finance systems experience, ideally SAP (Desirable)
