We are seeking a dedicated School Caretaker to join our team at our school. This role is crucial for maintaining the school premises to a high standard, ensuring a safe, secure, and clean environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Day-to-day of the role:

Maintenance and Repairs: 

* Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the school building and grounds.

* Identify and report major repair needs to the appropriate authorities.

* Ensure all equipment and facilities are in good working order.

Security: 

* Open and close the school premises, including setting and disabling alarms.

* Conduct regular security checks to ensure the safety of the school.

* Respond to emergency call-outs as required.

Cleaning and Hygiene: 

* Oversee the cleaning of the school, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

* Manage waste disposal and recycling processes.

* Ensure that cleaning supplies are well-stocked and properly stored.

Health and Safety: 

* Conduct regular health and safety inspections of the premises.

* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and school policies.

* Maintain records of safety checks and incidents.

Grounds keeping: 

* Maintain the school grounds, including gardening, snow removal, and general upkeep.

* Ensure playgrounds and outdoor areas are safe and well-maintained.

Support Services:

* Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events and activities.

* Coordinate with external contractors and service providers as needed.

* Provide general support to staff and students as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, or similar role.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair techniques.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
