About the Role:

A post-16 college based in Sunderland is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational individual to join their growing Construction Team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment practices across all levels in Carpentry and Joinery qualifications, from Level 1 to T-Levels, ensuring positive outcomes for students. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving forward the development and promotion of the curriculum area. Responsibilities include planning, promoting, delivering, monitoring, and evaluating teaching and learner progress. The role also involves creating and cultivating strong links with parents, employers, and the construction industry to ensure all students gain an outstanding experience.

About the Candidate:

Applicants must be qualified to Level Three in a relevant construction trade and have a minimum of 2 years of industrial experience within the sector. While a Construction-related degree/HND, a teaching qualification, and an assessor qualification are desirable, they are not essential. Candidates should demonstrate practical examples of how they meet the person specification in their personal statement. A flexible, proactive approach is required as this role includes responsibility for the successful delivery of teaching, learning, and assessment across the trades.
