We are currently working with large Local Government organisation in the West Midlands who are seeking a skilled Category Manager to Lead agreed category management activity across Housing and Works.
Category Manager – Housing & Works
Start: ASAPRate: Negotiable depending on experience (Inside IR35)Duration: 6Months Initially possible extension Hybrid working – West Midlands
Main duties
- To manage category management activity from source to contract that underpins the Council’s objectives to transform Procurement & Commercial Services into a leading edge and professional organisation through becoming more focused, more integrated, and more disciplined
- Lead agreed category management activity - People Services, Housing & Works, City Management or Corporate Services.
- Create a centrally coordinated, highly effective procurement function with strong execution capability
- Being highly credible through the delivery of substantial and sustainable savings
- Being an integral strategic partner with directorates / functions and supply chain partners
- To take ownership of category vision and deliver of Category Plans which underpin the sourcing strategies for the Housing & Works category - up to c£220 million addressable spend under contract
- To prioritise risks and issues and manage mitigations across the council
Requirements
- Experience of local government and the public procurement regulations 2015
- Category experience predominantly housing and works and additionally corporate services
