• £12.26 per hour + holiday pay (FTE £23,656 p.a. pro rata)

The Role

As a Catering Assistant, you’ll play a key role in the preparation, cooking, presentation, and service of healthy food and beverages for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals to high standards of quality and hygiene
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and quality assurance procedures
• Assist with catering for special functions outside of regular hours as needed
• Monitor food temperatures and quality before serving
• Report equipment faults and maintenance needs promptly
• Follow school security protocols, including securing entrances and exits as needed
• Comply with child protection and confidentiality policies, reporting any concerns

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a motivated team player with a passion for excellent service and a positive attitude. The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Experience in catering, a restaurant, or a school setting
• Friendly and polite demeanour with a focus on customer service
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
• Keen attention to cleanliness and detail
• Catering NVQ qualification (desirable)
• First aid training (or willingness to complete it)
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures for kitchen equipment
