CDT Coordinator

We are seeking a Coordinator for the Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Chemical Technologies: A Systems Approach (CSCT), hosted within the Institute of Sustainability and Climate Change. This role involves project coordination, recruitment, event organisation, and providing comprehensive administrative and financial support to the Centre’s activities. The successful candidate will work closely with the CDT Manager and various faculty and central departments.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Recruitment and Admissions: Handle all aspects of student recruitment from publicity to processing applications and organising interviews and open days.
- MRes and PhD Support: Coordinate with external training providers and academic staff, manage coursework distribution, and maintain postgraduate records.
- Support to the CDT Director and Deputy Director: Manage meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements, and act as a point of contact for queries related to the CDT.
- Financial Administration: Monitor budgets, manage financial accounts, and liaise with the Faculty Finance Office to ensure financial compliance and reporting.
- Project Coordination and Meeting Support: Organise and manage meetings for the Strategic Advisory Board and CDT Management Board, including preparing agendas and minutes.
- Events and Marketing: Coordinate events such as conferences and showcases, manage logistics, and work with marketing teams to keep promotional materials up-to-date.
- General Administrative Duties: Perform reception duties, liaise with external partners, and ensure smooth operation of the CDT office.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably within an educational or research environment.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Competency in financial management and familiarity with budgeting processes.
- Proficiency in using university systems such as Agresso and experience with database management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of initiative and problem-solving skills.
