Your new companyA pupil referral unit based in South Birmingham, which specialises in behavioural issues is looking for an experienced attendance Officer to join their team on an interim basis. The cover is Monday to Friday. The hours will be 8.30 am to 4pm, term time only. This is a long-term ongoing role and will commence ASAP. There is a possibility of it becoming a permanent role for the right individualYour new roleAs a School Attendance Officer, you will play a crucial role in promoting and ensuring regular school attendance. You will be responsible for monitoring student attendance, identifying patterns of absenteeism, and working closely with students, parents, staff and outside agencies to address attendance issues and any barriers to learning. This role will also require you to be proactive in making occasional home visits to support the parent community and ensure students can attend school regularly.Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track student attendance daily via the school system.
  • Identify and address patterns of absenteeism.
  • Work collaboratively with students, parents, staff and outside agencies.
  • Conduct home visits to support families and address attendance concerns.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and prepare reports as required.
  • Provide administrative support related to attendance, including correspondence and record-keeping.
  • Liaise with external agencies and support services as necessary.
