Job Description :

Key Responsibilities

  • To lead and supervise soft services teams, Security and Environmental (oversee day to day running of mall, car parks, perimeter, back of house areas, waste operation & housekeeping in the Service Yard.
  • Working T/L
  • Maintain the welfare of the team.
  • Supervising and hands on approach as needed.
  • Work with management across all departments to ensure operational cover and manage rosters on a day-to-day basis.
  • Complete all monthly checks to include PPE, AI’s, TBT and Welfare checks.
  • To be fully conversant with all procedures and policies, ensure AI’s are followed and adhered too
  • To conduct reviews/Appraisals for personnel under your supervision, identifying training needs and potential for development
  • To ensure the customer service philosophy is achieved within the department and to seek ways of ensuring Team Leaders and staff deliver consistently high standards.
  • To frequently brief and share information with the team and liaise with senior management about any issues/incidents that occur during the day.
  • Ensure that the centre operation is operationally compliant and in line with H&S regulations and risk assessments

Security

  • Supervising and hands on approach to the mall, basement, car park and centre security operation.
  • To Provide guidance, training, and supervision to the security team.
  • Work with management to ensure operational cover and manage rosters on a day-to-day basis.
  • Carry out daily team briefs to all security staff.
  • Keep up to date with Terror threat level and intelligence provided by Savills security team
  • Keep security team up to date with all information, issues and incidents – regular team briefs
  • Hold regular meetings with management team
  • Attend organised training sessions
  • Complete all monthly checks to include PPE, AI’s, TBT and Welfare checks.
  • To be fully conversant with all procedures and policies, ensuring that site assignment instructions are followed and adhered too.
  • Ensure that the centre security operation is operationally compliant and in line with security regulations and risk assessments
  • To provide security solutions to meet and exceed needs and contribute to the safety of our customers, retailers, staff and property.

Environmental

  • To ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene around the premises.
  • To manage excellent relationships with our client, suppliers and customers.
  • To lead and develop and retrain staff to deliver quality services in the most efficient and effective manner and achieve a “One Team” approach within the business.
  • Work closely and support staff when required with Hands On approach.
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety requirements are followed as per company policies and procedures which will include accident reporting / investigation, delivery of toolbox talks, PPE checks, maintenance of statutory and non statutory records etc.
  • Support and work closely with the site Environmental teams.
  • Management of cleaning equipment, consumables and materials. Good knowledge of Machinery.
  • Daily monitoring of Cleaning standards throughout the external areas ensuring team proactively respond to all tasks as required.
  • Ensure that all chemical and cleaning solutions are used correctly in line with manufacturer and company procedures. COSHH regulations are followed
  • Maximise sustainability opportunities working closely with all stakeholders and all recycling opportunities are explored.
  • To continuously review and introduce best practice across the shopping centre.
  • Deliver leadership for soft services required to meet / exceed the customer requirements
  • To enhance the relationship with the customer and ensure the appropriate and timely response to all cleaning issues and events.
  • To ensure that all relevant records are held and updated as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following:

Essential

  • Valid SIA Licence required
  • Experience in the provision of cleaning/security services in a busy environment visited by members of the public. (Not essential as training will be given)
  • Able to demonstrate a good level of customer service.
  • Body fluids trained. (Training will be given)
  • Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
  • Honest and reliable work ethic.
  • Well presented.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work in both internal and external environments.
  • Willingness to partake in further on-site training.

Desirable

  • Basic Knowledge of H&S legislation.
  • Flexible working approach to work patterns
  • Driving Licence – not essential

Working Hours - 40 hrs, 4 on 4 off rota
