Job Description :

At The Mallard, we pride ourselves on providing family-focused support. Our centre is an ideal location for families seeking tailored services that meet the unique needs of their children. Our team of well-trained, qualified, and experienced staff hold certifications in HNC, SVQ, PEG feeding, Epilepsy, Autism, and Safeguarding, ensuring the highest standard of care.

Our facilities are comprehensive and designed to enrich your child’s stay. From our sensory room and hydrotherapy spa pool to our art and craft room and large enclosed garden, we offer a variety of resources to make your child’s time with us enjoyable and fulfilling. We provide residential short breaks for children and young people aged 5-21, with personalised care plans that include activity preferences, food choices, and dietary needs. For our youngest visitors, Little Marvels offers a safe and stimulating environment for children aged birth to 5 years with additional or complex needs, where they can play while parents connect with each other and our staff.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with disabilities? Come work with us at The Mallard! We are always looking for dedicated individuals to join our team. Whether you are just starting your career or are an experienced professional, we offer opportunities for growth and development.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join our team, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring the highest standards of care for our residents. As the senior member of staff within the unit, you will manage a team, maintain the overall care of residents, and ensure that quality standards are met. Your role will involve promoting equality, safeguarding individuals from abuse, and managing both aggressive behaviour and communication difficulties, all while supporting clients in distress and ensuring their wellbeing with sensitivity and respect.

In this role, you will work closely with the Service Leader to assist in formulating yearly plans, managing the annual budget, and maintaining quality assurance. You will also be responsible for personnel management, including recruitment, supervision, and staff training, ensuring that all HR policies are adhered to. Your contribution will extend to professional development through ongoing training and keeping abreast of current social care practices. Regular team meetings and facilitating staff assessments will be key aspects of your responsibilities.

You must hold a recognised Social Work/Nursing Qualification SVQ Level 4 and possess experience in working with children, including those with disabilities and managing challenging behaviour. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer literacy is essential. As our work is carried out in Christ's name, a Christian faith and alignment with our Christian ethos are required. This position also necessitates membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme, registration with the SSSC, and adherence to professional standards and criteria for registration.

We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that support others.

Firstly, there is access to a wide range of exclusive retail and leisure discounts through our rewards scheme and the Blue Light Discount card. We also ensure that your future and that of your loved ones is secured with a generous contributory pension plan and death in service benefit. Balancing work and family are made easier with our suite of enhanced family friendly policies and your health and wellness are prioritised with access to our health cash plan, giving you cash back for a wide range of health treatments. We even have access to a care concierge service to assist you with life's challenges, providing invaluable support when you need it most.

But we also know that your training and development is important to you, and as well as a contribution to your professional membership fees, we are keen to support you in making the right steps to learn, grow and develop in ways that are right for you.
