Chief Claims Officer,  Flexible on locations in either UK or US

Aon is seeking a Chief Claims Officer to set vision and strategy for Claims as a differentiating capability and service offering to support overall Commercial Risk business growth agenda.

As the Chief Claims Officer you will set a standard of excellence across all aspects of claims service activities and execute through close collaboration with Aon Business Services (particular focus on high volume, process heavy activities) and Aon Global Risk Consulting (particular focus around collaboration with claims preparation activities and high-impact client situations). Personally take charge of driving global claims advocacy proposition through collaborative leading of a global leadership team comprising geographies, industries, and product lines.

What the day will look like

The Chief Claims Officer will require leadership in the following distinct capabilities:

Leadership:

  • Represent claims as a member of Global Commercial Risk Leadership Team
  • Sponsorship of all relevant elements of the firm’s claims infrastructure, including global platform / Claims Resolution Platform
  • Strong collaboration with head of Aon Global Risk Consulting and COO of Risk Capital

Strategy:

  • Set clear aspiration & strategy for Aon’s Claim offering being a true differentiator
  • Set clear and tangible standards of excellence in terms of overall claims service promise to clients – clearly articulated by client segment
  • Set vision and drive design of global claims operating platform alongside the COO of Risk Capital
  • Advocacy - engage as a point of senior level escalation to the benefit of clients on specific sophisticated claims and / or portfolio performance issues with carriers, third party administrators and others
  • Explore opportunities for incremental revenue through outstanding claims advocacy (where appropriate)
  • Contribute to claims innovation and service model improvement,  including through leverage of ABS
  • Contribute to new business and growth by articulating the value and differentiation of Aon’s claims approach and results, and by sponsorship of pricing and client service agreement strategies
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement of technical excellency of Aon’s broking machine by active feedback mechanism to the Commercial Risk Chief Broking Officer
  • Ensure engagement with Commercial Risk claims leaders in geographies and business units to bring the full benefit of Aon’s claims team to clients
  • Actively engage in claims related carrier management activity and fully lead regional engagement in adjuster, law firm and other vendor relationship management
  • Specific oversight of claims services for, and opportunities with, Enterprise Clients
  • Involvement in Risk Committee activities to assist in the mitigation of risk to the firm, specifically providing lessons learned and related to insights to inform stakeholders of the need for improvement and / or clarification in working processes, policy wordings etc.
  • Representation of Aon as a claims leader in the industry through Committee, Advisory Board and other memberships, and through speaking / publication engagements

You will clearly define the Global Claims Strategy across Commercial Risk, work with the Aon Executive Committee/Executive Leadership on problem solving the most complex /high profile claims to get the best outcome for clients and bringing the global Commercial Risk claims community together to operate to an aligned strategy and claims operating model.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Significant number of years experience as a Claims Advocacy Leader
  • Market leading claims practitioner
  • Demonstrate successful tack record on the most sophisticated and challenging claims in the market
  • Multi product /line claims experience
  • Senior Leadership experience (directly or matrix leadership)
  • Ability to develop and complete a strategy / vision
  • Technically strong (wordings, E&O avoidance, training)
