Job Type: Permanent, Full Time (40 Hours per week)
We are seeking a dedicated Ofsted Registered Manager to oversee the management of a new two bed (EBD) Children’s Homes in Shipley, West Yorkshire. This role is an exceptional opportunity for a leader with a passion for providing outstanding care to children and young people aged 8-15 years. The successful candidate will manage a team ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for the children in our care.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Foster positive relationships and encourage strong bonds between children and staff.
- Collaborate with professionals, families, and communities to support the children’s needs.
- Lead recruitment, training, and development processes for the staff team.
- Act as an advocate for children, ensuring their views and feelings are considered.
- Promote children’s ambitions and learning, both in and out of school.
- Develop and maintain effective working and information sharing protocols.
- Stay informed on developments related to children who are looked after and share knowledge with staff.
- Create a stable and secure base for young people to address past experiences and present challenges.
- Ensure adherence to medication handling and administration requirements.
- Conduct and manage risk assessments and plans.
- Handle complex and challenging behaviour effectively.
- Oversee the matching and admissions process to the home.
- Develop, deliver, and evaluate individual care plans.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree level education plus NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or close to completion).
- Social work qualification is advantageous but not essential.
- Proven leadership and management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and associated quality standards.
- Recent experience in residential care of children and staff management.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
- Valid Enhanced DBS on the update service.
- Flexibility to meet rota requirements, including potential sleep-in duties.
