We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our team at a children’s home in Purley. This role is crucial for providing high-quality care and support to children and young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide direct care and support to children and young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
- Lead by example, guiding and mentoring other support workers and staff members.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans.
- Participate in activities and outings, providing a supportive and nurturing environment.
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required by regulations and company policies.
- Ensure the home environment is safe, secure, and well maintained.
- Communicate effectively with team members, external agencies, and families to ensure coordinated care and support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Support Worker in a children’s residential care setting.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the needs and rights of children and young people in care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins as required.
- Commitment to professional development and willingness to undertake further training.
