What's involved with this role: Interim Children’s Homes Registered ManagerAFC RQ1444867 Enhanced DBS disclosure required for this roleKey Requirements:
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (and Scotland SVQ Level 4 Management & Leadership); or for England or an equivalent Level 5 Diploma as defined by the DFE Guide to Children’s Homes Regulations, 2015.
  • Extensive experience of safeguarding practice.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the CQC regulations, OFSTED (Scotland-Care Inspectorate) requirements.
  • Creating an inclusive service, in terms of meeting the needs of the children and establishing a workforce that further enables an inclusive environment.
  • Developing and managing stakeholders’ relationships, both internal and external.
  • Demonstrable experience of motivating and leading by example to improve outcomes.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with children and young people who exhibit very challenging, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Required to complete the SC2 form and pass a fit person interview with Ofsted.
The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the operational management and leadership of a residential home, setting the values, principles and ethos of the home in line with national standards.Key Responsibilities:
  • Create a service ethos ensuring safe, quality delivery that compiles with regulatory standards through effective planning, review, and monitoring.
  • Lead by example to inspire, motivate, and manage diverse staff while maintaining safe, compliant staffing levels.
  • Provide supportive 1-2-1s and reflective supervision to create a skilled, motivated, and qualified team in line with regulatory standards.
  • Deliver improved outcomes for children and young people using performance data and evidence-based measures.
  • Manage all aspects of the home, ensuring innovative, high-quality, needs-based, and outcome-driven services.
  • Promote and uphold the highest standards of safeguarding through utilising existing processes and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements through consistent, timely systems and processes, including quality self-assessments.
