We have an exciting opportunity for an aspiring Claims Team Leader/Manager to join a thriving team. You'll lead and manage a team of 3-4 general insurance claims handlers, ensuring a smooth claims experience for their network of mobility retailers and their customers.
About the Role:
- Lead and manage a team of 3-4 claims handlers, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Oversee the processing of various claims specific to mobility equipment, including accidental damage, third-party liability, theft, personal accident, and warranty claims. This includes mobility scooters, powered wheelchairs, stairlifts, and hoists.
- Collaborate closely with mobility retailers and their customers to ensure a seamless claims journey.
- Possess a strong understanding of insurance principles, specifically liability and property damage coverage.
- Foster a supportive and developmental environment, empowering your team to deliver exceptional customer service and a seamless claims journey.
- Provide ongoing training to ensure the team maintains competence and a strong knowledge base.
- Manage performance indicators and service targets, ensuring team adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with insurers and internal stakeholders. Provide insights into claims performance, including acceptance rates, handling times, and customer service metrics.
- Generate and maintain regular reports, monitoring claims performance and adherence to Consumer Duty principles.
- Act as the escalation point for authorisations, complaints, and fraud identification.
- Conduct effective team meetings and individual coaching sessions to discuss well-being, performance, and career development.
- Lead and manage internal and external claims audits, providing data oversight and responding promptly to actions.
- Champion continuous improvement, striving to optimise service, standards, and team engagement.
