Class 1 HGV Driver - Driver Hire (Uxbridge) : Job Details

Driver Hire Uxbridge are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) for our client based in Southall, a large retail supplier

MONDAY TO FRIDAY Start times vary 05:30am onwards (flexibility is a must!) £19.00 to £22.00 per hour PAYE (including holiday pay)(Depending on experience, overtime, nights, weekends etc)

Please note: This role involves handling alcohol and meat as part of the job duties. Candidates should be comfortable performing these tasks.

• Collect goods from Southall warehouse and deliver to large retailers and warehouses
• The handling of alcohol will be involved throughout shifts
• Goods are loaded for you, you will be required to unload goods safely using a pump tuck at some locations - ensure all products are secure throughout transit (strapping)
• Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fuel levels, tyre pressure, and fluid levels
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations

Requirements:

• Valid manual UK driving licence (CAT C+E) for at least 2 years with no more than 6 points (no DR DD TT IN or MS90 endorsements)
• Valid CPC and TACHO
• You must be over the age of 25 years - for insurance purposes
• At least 1 year HGV Class 1 driving experience (references required)
• Have more than 90 days appropriate driving experience (Cat C) in the past 12 months
• Physically fit, unloading will be required at some delivery locations
• Excellent verbal and written English skills to interact with customers and team members
• Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards

Rates of pay:

• We are paying for minimum 8 hours a day
• Overtime is paid after 9 hours (breaks are not paid)
• PAYE between £19.00 and £22.00 per hour (rates differ for experience, nights, weekends, bank/public holidays and overtime)
