This role sits within our Private Sector FM business division that provides catering, cleaning, hard services, pest control, and security services to a wide range of prestigious clients, within the Lifestyle market.

About The Role:Working hours: 40 hours per week, flexible dependant on workload Reports to: Account ManagerThe Cleaning Manager is responsible for the overall delivery of the cleaning service for one of our key contracts (Somerset House Trust estate) The Cleaning Manager is responsible for the financial performance of the full scope of soft services against budget and the incurred costs by the procurement of consumables and contracted services, along with managing a large team of Cleaning Supervisors and Operatives.Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing additional services provided by specialist sub-contractors (waste management, window cleaning and pest control)
  • Managing staff and leadership of the cleaning team. This consists of 3 Cleaning Supervisors and circa 45 cleaning operatives.
  • All aspects of staff management including recruitment, retention, training, appraisals, disciplinaries and 1-1 performance meetings.
  • Conduct regular team meetings with all staff informing the team of their overall performance and addressing health and safety issues and updates
  • To be responsible for the statutory compliance of all soft service operations ensuring that operations are delivered safely and in accordance with OCS policy. All relevant documentation such as Risk Assessments and method Statements are to be regularly reviewed and kept up to date reflecting current operations. All such information is to be communicated to the operational team.

You should meet the following criteria:

  • At least five years' experience in the management of soft services that include cleaning, waste management and front of house services
  • Experience in having direct responsibility for the management and delivery of cleaning operations in a diverse and challenging environment
  • Managed auditing processes for a range of services and performed to service KPI's
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Competent in the use of IT including all MS Office packages
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in delivering excellence in the facilities services environment
  • IOSH qualified
  • NEBOSH qualified
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Delivered services within a historic or heritage environment (desirable)
  • Experience with the management or support to exhibitions and events (desirable)
  • Developed service proposal and bids (desirable)
  • Financial management of an equivalent value in budget for staff, contractors and commodities Relevant personnel management skills and experience
  • Direct responsibility for operational H&S compliance
