Overview
Our Gallagher Education Team are seeking an experienced client director to lead circa 35 clients in the South of England as we increase the home-based executives in that region. The clients will be picked around the new persons location. The business is highly cyclical with most clients due 1st August.
You will take responsibility for an existing book of business and assist with new clients. The candidate will manage an existing portfolio of around 35 clients, with average premiums per client of £50-£250,000 (circa £50m turnover) providing a quality service meeting client demands and needs in order to achieve optimum profitable renewal retention rate and account growth. As sector leaders the existing model is very successful gaining more of the sector each year. Our client base exceeds 75% of the sector.
You will be working very closely with existing colleagues in the main office in Formby, Liverpool, both giving and receiving that support that every successful team.
We do not need any Education experience, we need you to have a proven background in Account Executive position, the education side can be picked up very quickly.
How you'll make an impact
Client Management
- Manage client/prospect relationships and grow the book/existing accounts.
- Provide the most appropriate insurance and risk management solutions for our customers.
- Ensure client information and sales plans are kept up to date.
- Establish and manage a sales pipeline of potential clients or growth opportunities.
- Create positive relationships at all levels within the client.
Quality Management
- Work as part of a close team of 6 Client Directors who look after clients across the UK.
- Work closely with Client Advisers to provide that all-round service excellence to clients.
- Create that team relationship with client Advisers with the client always at the heart of that working.
- Work with our Broking Team on individual or complex placements.
- Deal with internal and external queries from colleagues or underwriters.
- Undertaking pre renewals in person and on Teams.
- Working with brokers on renewal reports and reviewing/presenting with clients.
- Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance and Gallagher’s shared values, in particular, putting clients at the heart of our business.

About You
- Cert CII/ Dip CII/ Advanced Dip CII (Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications) desirable
- Experience working with education clients is interesting but not the primary focus
- Good knowledge of the general insurance market, products and services
- Proven rapport-building experience with internal/external stakeholders
- Able to identify potential problems and seek advice/consultation when required.
- Robust knowledge of client market and insurance industry network
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Authentic communication skills for varying audience
- Excellent planning and analytical skills
- Self-motivated and motivates others to achieve.
