The Role:As a Client Manager / Accounts Manager, you will oversee client relationships, ensuring their accounting needs are met with the highest standard of service. You will manage a team of accountants, ensuring the delivery of accurate financial reporting and compliance, while offering strategic advice to help clients grow their businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact for all accounting and financial matters.
- Overseeing the preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and VAT returns for clients.
- Reviewing and approving the work of junior team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK GAAP.
- Providing clients with proactive advice on tax planning, business strategy, and financial performance.
- Managing client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for additional services.
- Conducting regular meetings with clients to discuss their financial performance and offering tailored advice.
- Supervising and mentoring a team of junior accountants and providing training and development support.
- Ensuring all deadlines are met for accounts, tax, and other filings.
- Assisting with business development activities, including onboarding new clients and participating in networking events.
- Monitoring client budgets and timelines to ensure projects are completed efficiently and profitably.
Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients, with a strong focus on client service.
- Solid knowledge of UK GAAP, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- A proactive and commercially minded approach, with a passion for helping clients grow their businesses.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
