Job Title: Senior Mental Health Practitioner/Clinical Psychologist - Youth Justice Service

Grade: Band 7

Department: Salford Core CAMHS

Location: Salford CAMHS and Youth Justice Office, Pendleton Gateway, Salford, M6 5FX

Trust: Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Pay rate: £26.83

If so, we invite you to join the team as a Senior Mental Health Practitioner/Clinical Psychologist within the Youth Justice Service at Salford CAMHS.

This role offers the unique opportunity to work across the Salford Youth Justice Service and the Salford Community CAMHS team, delivering high-quality, needs-led, evidence-based mental health assessments and interventions. You will manage a complex caseload, provide consultation to professionals across agencies, and ensure integrated care for children, young people, and their families.

Main duties of the job

  • managea complex caseload
  • provide care appropriate to the child or young person’s needs which will include; mental state assessment, risk assessment and management, providing consultation to colleagues within Youth Justice and to wider networks such as social care and, Greater Manchester Police and courts and therapeutic interventions.
  • develop a formulation and plan for intervention, based on an appropriate conceptual framework in collaboration with the child, young person and parents/carers, communicating this to the referrer and other relevant professionals

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

  • A relevant qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, Nursing (RMN/RSCN), Social Work, or Occupational Therapy.
  • Registered with the relevant professional body e.g. NMC, SW England, UKCP, HCPC, BACP
  • Relevant experience and training in mental health assessments and interventions.
  • Experience of hard to reach diverse community groups and individuals with emerging complex needs, dual diagnoses, people with additional disabilities and safeguarding.
