We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC Machine Operator to work for our prestigious client based in Hoddesdon. As a CNC Machine Operator, you must be able to produce a consistent level of quality with a good understanding of housekeeping and understand the importance of good / safe working practices is vital. The ideal candidate will have a positive mindset, can-do attitude, and a desire to work in a team-based environment. Attention to detail and good manual dexterity are a must.
The role is a full-time permanent position working from 7am - 4.30pm (Monday - Friday) offering a competitive salary.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Program, set, and operate CNC machine - including packing the final products ready for shipment.
- Using AutoCAD/Computer Design Software.
- Operate CNC machine to tight tolerances.
- Produce high quality components from drawings.
- Ensuring all production achieves the highest quality standards in line with the company's quality procedures.
- Ensuring all necessary documentation and labelling is completed and production records are maintained.
- Carry out basic maintenance on machines and tools if necessary.
- Ensuring you always adhere to company procedures and rules and follow both verbal and written instruction.
- Ensuring all manufacture is completed in a timely fashion within the given timescales to meet the required delivery date
- Develop and improve manufacturing methods.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are always met.
- Carry out any other duties as requested by the Supervisor across other production areas.
Skills/Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience using CNC machines (any material).
- Experience with Zund CNC machines (preferred but not essential).
- Skilled in AutoCad or 2D/3D computer design packages.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Comfortable working with measurements.
- Experience using tools/power tools.
- A forklift license would be an advantage.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately.
- Ability to use initiative.
- Lean manufacturing concepts and experience
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook.
