About the Role:

An expanding manufacturing business in Staplehurst is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join its dedicated tool-room team. The company has recently invested in new facilities and cutting-edge machinery, significantly increasing production capacity and capability.

This role involves operating CNC-controlled lathes and mills to produce high-quality components for tooling and customer requirements. You'll also work closely with the design department to create machining codes and assist in designing fixtures or jigs as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC-controlled lathes and mills to produce components for tooling or direct customer use.
  • Use 3D models to generate machining code via Inventor CAM software.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop fixturing or jigs for component machining.
  • Ensure components meet high-quality standards and are delivered on time.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a machining environment.
  • Proficiency with Heidenhain controllers.
  • Ability to produce small, complex batches of components to exacting standards.
  • Experience working from engineering drawings.
  • Strong teamworking skills to meet production deadlines.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with ISO9001 quality systems.
  • Familiarity with Lean/5S principles.
  • Knowledge of Inventor CAM or similar software.
  • Programming skills and experience with sliding head lathes.
  • Ability to design and manufacture machine fixturing.
