CNC Machinist - Reed : Job Details

General Machinist

• Contract Duration: 12 months
• Shifts: Rotating (Earlies, Afternoons, Nights)
• Salary: £24.83 per hour (PAYE), equivalent to £47,775 per annum
• Location: Derby

We are seeking skilled General Machinists for a 12-month contract at a prestigious facility in Derby. This role requires working a rotating shift pattern, totalling 37 hours per week, across early, late, and night shifts.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Operate various machining equipment, adhering to technical instructions and program manuals to ensure high-quality output across different components and product families.
• Utilise inspection equipment such as machine probing, micrometres, and plug gauges to maintain quality standards.
• Interpret manufacturing and customer drawings as well as written specifications to accurately produce components.
• Assess the quality of components produced to ensure they meet the required standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Completion of an advanced modern engineering apprenticeship and possession of an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with Siemens control systems is preferred.
• Proficiency in 3 and 5-axis grinding, milling, and turning.
• Previous experience working with aerospace components is advantageous.
• Demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
