The Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Miller (4-Axis) to join our team. Your role will involve setting, operating, and programming MX-Matsuura CNC mills with Fanuc controls, as well as setting and operating a Haas Mini Mill.

This position demands a deep understanding of precision engineering and the ability to consistently produce high-quality components that meet stringent specifications. You will report to the Production Supervisor and collaborate with a dynamic team to achieve production goals while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate 4-axis CNC Matsuura milling machines with Fanuc controls.

  • Programming: Create or modify programs directly using G-code/M-code or through existing CAM software.

  • Precision Engineering: Manufacture components to exact specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.

  • Tooling & Maintenance: Perform tooling setup, tool changes, and routine maintenance to ensure smooth machine operation.

  • Quality Control: Use precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges to inspect parts and make adjustments as needed.

  • Process Optimization: Work collaboratively to improve machining strategies, reduce cycle times, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate production records and machining logs.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience as a CNC Miller, preferably with 3- and 4-axis machining expertise.

  • Proficiency in Fanuc programming and G-code/M-code operations.

  • Hands-on experience with Matsuura CNC mills and similar equipment.

  • Strong knowledge of machining principles, cutting tools, and metalworking techniques.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T specifications.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs in Mathematics and English (or equivalent).

  • Vocational training or certifications in CNC machining are advantageous.

Working Hours

  • Early Shift: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM - 2:15 PM.

  • Late Shift: Monday to Thursday, 2:00 PM - 12:15 AM.

  • Overtime: Paid at time and a third on weekdays, and time and a half on Saturdays.
