Job Description :

Our Client is one of the UK’s top 100 law firms, with a strong reputation for both commercial and private client work. They have expertise in undertaking complex corporate and property transactions, as well as commercial, tax and trust matters and disputes. With a history dating back over two centuries, they have recently moved to stunning new offices.

They are now looking for a Commercial Finance Analyst. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Finance to understand the firm’s financial performance with a focus on revenue, profitability and performance levers driving results.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop strong working relationships with team leaders and partners to support their financial understanding of the various practice areas.
  • Work closely with the senior finance members to develop the reporting and analytical functions of the Account department.
  • Prepare monthly performance reports and KPIs.
  • Analysing results and trends and communicating insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of existing and planned reporting cubes (revenue, GL and profit) including the maintenance of budget uploads.
  • Generating ad-hoc financial reporting, models and sensitivity analysis as required.
  • Assist in the budgeting process through the modelling of revenue trends and resource capacity and contribute to project work underway including the roll out of reporting cubes as well as development of pricing tools for the firm.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in a commercially focused analytic role ideally within the legal or professional services.
  • CIMA qualifications or equivalent, applications from part qualified candidates with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Strong excel skills with experience of pivot tables, OLAPs and ability to manage data into useful reporting.
  • Ability to identify patterns and trends and identify key information to be communicated.
  • Experience of project work specifically with reporting platforms and financial tools.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills being able to discuss financial concepts to those with a non-finance background.
