Commercial Project Accountant / Near Worthing / Up to £65,000 per annumSyntech Recruitment are working with a leading player in the engineering and supply chain sector who are seeking a Commercial Project Accountant to join their dynamic team. This role is integral to managing the financial aspects of key commercial projects, providing insights, and ensuring that financial targets and objectives are met. The successful candidate will take ownership of project accounting, ensuring accuracy in reporting and analysis to support decision-making across the business.Commercial Project Accountant Role Details:

  • Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week
  • Must be able to commute minimum 1 day per week to office near Worthing
  • This role has the option to be a 6 month FTC or permanent depending on availability.

Commercial Project Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial models for key commercial projects, ensuring accurate forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis.
  • Monitor and report on the financial performance of ongoing projects, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and the commercial team to ensure financial targets are met and cost control measures are in place.
  • Support financial planning activities including cash flow forecasting, project cost analysis, and variance analysis.
  • Assist with project audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.

Commercial Project Accountant Requirements:

  • ACCA qualified, with ideally 3+ years post qualified experience
  • Proven experience working with large programmes, ideally within engineering and manufacturing
  • Highly skilled with Microsoft Excel, ability to create easy to use formula's for the Finance team
  • Strong knowledge in project finance principles such as Revenue Recognition, Cashflow Management, Capital investment, Monitoring ROI, CapEX approvals etc
  • Experience within PLC environments and IFRS is desirable but not essential
