Your Company:This is an opportunity for a knowledgeable Commissioning Engineer to join a leading engineering business, to work in the Stourbridge area with travel across the country. As an active entity within the renewable energy sector, this company is a key player in important projects, offering a range of services, from project management to design, procurement, construction and maintenance services. The position holder will be responsible for undertaking electrical testing, troubleshooting for various projects and the job holder will also support on electrical engineering and testing activities.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesWhile in this position your duties may include but will not be limited to:
- Checking relay and control panels
- Verifying and handling continuity checks for electrical schematics
- Handling primary and secondary testing for substations
- Undertaking a range of testing including ratio tests, winding IR tests, switchgear functional checks and testing in accordance to manufacturer guidance, winding resistance and also magnetising current measurements, collection oil samples and testing alarm devices
- Additionally, handling HV, AC and DC cable testing, ranging from 1kV DC up to 35kV and also VLF testing up to 66kV RMS and from this finding faults proactively
- Doing secondary current injection to relays with the aim of testing protection functions including 50/51 and 50N/51N and handling secondary voltage injection tests for ROCOF, LOM and OV, UV, OF, UF
- Configuring relays logic
- Supporting on high voltage switching operations
- Preparing RAMs for commissioning activities and the testing reports after each activity has been completed
What you will need to Apply:The business is keen to hear from applicants in possession of an Electrical Engineering degree and any other industry related qualifications. Applicants should be knowledgeable with Omicron CMC365 secondary injection test kit or similar, alongside Hi-Pot, Ductor, VLF, IR Testing and HV cable fault finding. Good IT network and PC network setting adjustment knowledge. Any applicants should be able to understand electrical schematic drawings for up to 33kV and have excellent technical and analytical skills. Strong workload planning skills are a must, as well as fantastic communication and troubleshooting abilities.What you will get in Return:This business is happy to offer the successful candidate a starting salary of up to £60,000, which will be highly dependent on previous experience and relevant knowledge pertinent to the role. Additionally, there will be strong incentives provided, including a strong holiday allocation, pension contribution and monetary incentives.
