MERITUS Talent are working with a lrge industrial consultancy who are recruiting for a Commissioning Engineer to work on Safety Systems. The role is based 5 days a week onsite in Reading, and is Outside IR35.

Summary of main purpose of the job:

The main purpose of the job is the commissioning of hardwired site safety systems. This could have involvement in testing, configuration, and commissioning of these types of Control Systems and related software engineering activities for industrial control system applications predominantly in the nuclear industry. The candidate should have proven experience in Safety control systems, ideally supported by relevant certification and training. This role will be predominantly based at a customer site in the Reading area, but could also involve spending time working in Staffordshire.

Expectations:

• Obtain SC Clearence
• Carry out Main Site induction, security brief etc. to obtain site access badge
• Carry out Client's construction site induction
• Carry out Clients Electrical Safety training and Commissioning Engineer training to become a Nominated Person Commissioning (NPC)
• Work based on site (in Reading area) 4 to 5 days per week on site or as required, may be occasionally hybrid working from home
• Manage processes and procedures to record test results, produce test reports and records across a paperwork heavy project
• Report to Lead Systems Engineer and Commissioning Manager
• Support the commissioning team as they commission other (non-security) systems

Previous Experience:

• Hold or be willing to obtain 18th Edition Wiring Regs (BS 7671) + ECS Skills Card
• Have and be able to demonstrate a good awareness of electrical safety and site safety
• Have and be able to demonstrate previous experience in a commissioning environment
• Construction site experience on a highly regulated site, Government, Nuclear Etc.
• Computer literate across Word, spreadsheets Etc. and able to read and understand Block Cable Diagrams (BCD's) and electrical schematics
• Have a good understanding of quality procedures and willing to learn on site specifics

Preferred Experience:

• Security Access Control Systems and Analogue Closed Circuit TV Systems
• Have a working knowledge of CCTV Systems infrastructure and operation
• Hold any electrical test or IOSH qualifications

Essentials:

• Preferably already hold SC security clearance, if not then be able to obtain SC.
• British National Only Due to project SAL.
