They have created a new Compliance Assistant role where you will based in their regional office in Newcastle/Gateshead.
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
This would be working closely with the Audit & Compliance Manager. The File Auditor’s primary focus is to make sure that all staff within the company, the Network and Appointed Representatives work within regulatory guidelines and best practices set out by the FCA and that support is provided to everyone.
You will be required to be in the office 5 days a week, although this could be reduced once you are fully up to speed and are comfortable with the role and responsibilities.
JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for scheduling and completing compliance requirements for the company’s Appointed Representatives (ARs) Network.
- Recording of material regulatory breaches, or other risks identified by the audit team to the Head of Compliance and Audit
- Providing feedback to Senior Management on the Technical competence of allocated ARs
- Acting as a point of contact within the compliance team for the company’s ARs
- Assisting with the management of, and providing responses from the Compliance Inbox
- Supporting the Head of Compliance & Audit in the production of Management Information and Monthly Reports
- Assisting the Head of Compliance & Audit, and other members of the Senior Management Team with Ad hoc projects as required
- Complete mandatory Continuing professional Development set by the Head of Compliance and Audit, subject to a minimum of 15 hours PA.
- Adhering to the FCA’s Code of Conduct
- Supporting the company’s in the identification, assessment, and documentation of operational/regulatory risks and relevant controls
- Help and facilitate in the training of team members
- Management of monthly MI reports to highlight trends & escalate where appropriate
BUSINESS/PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Outlook
- Experience working within a regulated environment and with full understanding of the principles of TCF and Insurance Practice

Dependent on experience, the basic salary is from £27K to £31K with excellent additional staff benefits.
