Job Description :

Avencia Consulting, works in partnership with The Fidelis Partnership (TFP) a prominent managing general underwriter (MGU) in the London Market. Our underwriting comprises of three pillars, Bespoke, Specialty, and Reinsurance, with Bespoke and Specialty making up he majority of the premium. As well as our in-house underwriting teams, we operate an MGA incubation platform called Pine Walk, which provides turn key solutions for new underwriter-led MGA's.

New projects anticipated in Q1 of 2025 provide an opportunity has risen for a new an experienced compliance generalist to join the Compliance Team and provide support to the business while other Team members deliver the anticipated projects. .

The successful candidate will have practical experience of working in compliance for an insurer or intermediary in the London Market, advising the business on regulatory and licencing matters. Reporting to a Senior Compliance Manager the successful candidate will work under their own initiative and will have autonomy to engage, and make decisions, with key stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide the business and the third parties with whom it deals, with regulatory advice across a range of subject areas, including licencing;
  • Assist in the attendance of Governance meetings with relevant third parties as appropriate;
  • Working with the business to implement practical processes to deliver adherence to the relevant regulations;
  • Operating those processes as they relate to a second line function e.g. making sure business is only written where licenced to do so;
  • Supporting the conduct of regulatory horizon scanning, and providing summaries for discussion with the business;
  • Producing and maintaining business timetables, ensuring that regulatory reporting deadlines are met in accordance with the appropriate timeframes;
  • Answering KYC questions from third parties;
  • Advising and supporting the compliance monitoring team where appropriate, including where the monitoring scope includes the Coverholders.
  • Assist in the delivery of the 2025 Compliance Plan.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Compliance experience with intermediaries or insurers.
  • Detailed understanding of the FCA rulebooks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding ethical standards.
  • Detailed understanding of the regulatory requirements, specifically relating to Lloyd's, in the UK insurance industry. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of the regulatory landscape for Ireland (Desirable).
