Consents Manager £45,000 - £55,000 DOE Faraday Office Park Basingstoke

As a Consents Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of consents and permissions required for Energy projects. This role will specifically focus on Development Consent Orders (DCOs) and Consents Management.

Play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable energy by joining our team as a Consents Manager. You'll be instrumental in securing and managing land and property rights for critical electricity distribution and transmission projects, directly contributing to a net-zero carbon future. Your expertise will ensure compliance with all land access, environmental regulations, and statutory consents.

This role offers the opportunity to:

  • Lead the acquisition of crucial land and property consents: including but not limited to wayleaves, planning permissions, easements, leases, and land purchases.
  • Work on diverse infrastructure projects: encompassing underground cables, overhead lines, and ground-mounted installations across both public and private land.
  • Engage with key stakeholders: including landowners, local authorities, regulatory bodies, and external contractors, fostering strong relationships and ensuring seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities:Consents & Approvals Management:• Secure wayleaves, easements, lease agreements, and access permissions in compliance with the Electricity Act 1989 and other relevant regulations.Regulatory Compliance:• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of planning laws, environmental standards, and land rights legislation.Stakeholder Engagement:• Build and nurture strong relationships with landowners, tenants, agents, local authorities, and national agencies.Compensation & Claims:• Assess, negotiate, and settle compensation claims related to land use, wayleaves, and access agreements.Contractor Management:• Oversee and coordinate external consultants and contractors delivering consent-related services.

Documentation & Reporting:• Maintain accurate records of agreements, permits, and consents, providing clear and concise reports.Risk Management:• Identify and mitigate potential risks to obtaining consents, ensuring project timelines are met.Project Coordination:• Integrate consent processes into overall project schedules, aligning with construction and operational requirements.Process Improvement:• Identify and implement best practices to enhance efficiency in the consents management process.Cross-functional Collaboration:• Collaborate with project managers, legal teams, engineers, and environmental specialists to achieve land rights and consent requirements.

We would love to hear from you if you can deomonstrate...Experience:• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical consents management within the power utility infrastructure sector.Land & Property Expertise:• Proven track record in securing voluntary and statutory consents, land acquisition, and compensation claims.Regulatory Knowledge:• Deep understanding of the Electricity Act 1989, planning regulations, environmental laws, and land rights.Negotiation & Communication:• Exceptional ability to negotiate with landowners, tenants, and legal representatives.

Project & Stakeholder Management:• Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies and utility providers.Technical Skills:• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with consents management software (desirable).Problem-Solving:• Strong analytical skills to assess regulatory requirements and develop effective solutions.

Driving Licence:Full UK driving licence (essential)
