A critical part of this expansion involves the recruitment of a dynamic and experienced Contracts Manager. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, this role is vital in ensuring the successful delivery of projects, managing costs, and driving efficiencies across the board. As a senior member of the management team, the Contracts Manager will also play a key role in shaping the future of the business by contributing to the continuous improvement of project operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Project Delivery: Oversee the execution of projects in line with contract requirements, ensuring all work meets company quality standards, construction regulations, and is completed within the specified timeframe and budget.
  • Schedule and Budget Compliance: Ensure all work is completed on schedule, within project specifications, and in budget, with regular monitoring and adjustment as necessary.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and manage strong relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Cost and Profit Control: Take charge of field operations costs and gross profit margins, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining quality standards.
  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee subcontractors to ensure quality installation, adherence to critical dates, and alignment with project programmes, including conducting regular site visits.
  • Overtime Management: Authorise and control overtime, ensuring it aligns with project needs and budget constraints.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of design details and interfaces relevant to the project, ensuring seamless integration and execution.
  • Progress Claims: Generate and assess progress claims, comparing percentage claimed versus actual progress on site to ensure accuracy and alignment with project goals.
  • Variation Management: Ensure all project variations are promptly priced, issued, and incorporated into the project claim to maintain financial accuracy and control.
  • Engineer Management: Validate engineers' timesheets prior to payroll, managing their absences and providing necessary support.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through exceptional service delivery and precise communication, maintaining the company's reputation for excellence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on enhancing performance in daily tasks and overall project delivery.
  • Business Development: Drive new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the company by fostering strong client relationships and delivering successful projects.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake any other responsibilities as required to support the ongoing success of the company.

Desired Criteria:

  • Industry Experience: Previous contract management experience in the HVAC industry is essential.
  • Drive and Ambition: A strong drive to achieve success on each project, ensuring high-quality standards and timely delivery.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability in project planning and management, with strong business acumen.
  • Multi-Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, often under tight time constraints.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using all MS Office programmes, with strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Autonomy and Authority: Capable of operating autonomously with authority, skilled in developing and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Licensing: Must possess a full driving licence.
