An established and forward-thinking Main Contractor in Peckham, London, is looking for a commercially minded Contracts Manager to join their small, close-knit team.

The Contracts Manager role

As a Contracts Manager, you'll oversee a range of exciting and varied projects, from residential and commercial builds to education, listed buildings, and refurbishments. With projects ranging from £50k to £4M, you'll manage the delivery of 6-7 contracts at a time, ensuring everything runs smoothly, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting concise work programmes to support the commercial team and drive project success.
  • Selecting and managing the best suppliers to ensure top-quality project delivery.
  • Mentoring and leading site teams to hit targets and exceed expectations.
  • Representing the company in project meetings and delivering clear reports to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards and the Considerate Constructor Scheme.
  • Driving quality throughout each project, from start to finish, while handling snagging and remedial work.

The Contracts Manager

  • A background in trade or construction, with a strong commercial mind-set.
  • Experience as a current contracts manager.
  • Experience managing client relationships and delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to draft and monitor project programmes.
  • An effective communicator with the ability to lead and mentor teams.
  • Strong knowledge of IT packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and a full clean driving licence.
  • Degree in related field desirable not essential.
