Savills has a great opportunity at the Highcross Shopping Centre. We are looking for an experienced Control Room Assistant to join the team on site. Your shift pattern will be 4 on 4 off, 08:00-20:00 shifts with the requirement to cover sets of 20:00-08:00 shifts on occasion as holiday cover, with a pay rate of £12.78 per hour. You will report into the sites Duty Controllers.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the ‘live’ operation of the Control Room by managing the essential functions of:
- Proactively monitor activities in both public and landlord areas as part of public safety duties such as detection of intruders, vehicle protection and site security
- Ensure a full and comprehensive understanding of all emergency procedures with the ability to prioritise during emergency situations and support the Duty Controller as required
- Ensure that all records and documented or recorded evidence is handled professionally and in accordance with data protection requirements
- Monitoring the flow of traffic in and out of the centres’ car parks
- Proactively assisting customers within the car park environment
- Assist the Duty Controller in updating Control Room records as and when required
- Booking in Contractors and checking permits to work.
- Assist in issuing radios and keys to centre personnel and contractor visitor ID/passes, permits and keys
Further:
- To comply with Assignment Instructions / Standard Operating procedures at all times and carry out duties accordingly
- Ensure that Health and Safety processes and procedures are complied with at all times
- Provide a professional and customer focused service to all customers, retailers, visitors, staff and contractors
- Ensure all security activities are carried out adhering to the requirements of the SIA, both criminal and civil law and in compliance to Highcross policies and procedures
- Provide a deterrent for possible crime
- Ensure all control room equipment including life safety systems is operational and any faults are
- Ensure the control of access to and movement of persons and vehicles within all secure areas of the centre including service areas and car parks.
- Take responsibility for effective radio traffic to maintain professional communications.
- Take responsibility for the issuing of contractor permits and keys
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Previous Industry experience
- Worked in a CCTV Control Room
- Strong customer service skills
- SIA CCTV Licence
- DS SIA Licence
- Good verbal and written skill
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills
Hours
Average of 42 hours per week, on a rolling 4 on 4 off pattern of 08:00-20:00 shifts with the requirement to cover 20:00-08:00 shifts as holiday cover.
