Reed Engineering are currently working with a specialist manufacturer of glass processing technology. This independent company offer worldwide service to their customers and manage end-to-end projects including design and specification, equipment supply and installation, commissioning of individual specialised equipment or complete system packages.
Due to growth and a recent promotion, they are looking for an individual with experience and a passion for Electrical engineering to join their experienced team in a role that will offer training and progression within their electrical department.
Job Title: Electrical/Controls Engineer
Responsible to: Electrical Engineering Manager
Expected Qualifications and Experience:
- ONC qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is seen as a minimum initial requirement. Development of further relevant qualifications will be supported and encouraged.
- Knowledge of PLCs, HMI software, and SCADA systems.
- Understanding of EPLAN and AutoCAD-based software.
- Experience relating to Single and 3 Phase Power Transformers would be beneficial.
- An electrical manufacturing, installation, or maintenance background is an advantage.
- Ability to provide technical support to customers’ sites worldwide.
Principal Duties:
- After a period of training, you will provide both office-based technical support and travel to give on-site service to the company’s customers worldwide.
- Work within the Projects Office, providing project engineering support and coordination/management of specified customer projects or orders.
- Use knowledge of PLCs, HMI software, and SCADA systems for in-house programming and fault finding.
- Liaise with electrical design draughtsmen, project engineers, and electrical workshops in all aspects of the company’s electrical/electronic engineering activities.
