As a Cook, your role will involve preparing and cooking meals according to school menus and dietary guidelines. You will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills by adjusting menus for students with special dietary needs, such as allergies or religious restrictions. Menu planning will also be a part of your responsibilities, allowing you to exhibit your creativity and expertise in the kitchen.

Ensuring food safety is paramount in this role. You will be expected to follow food safety regulations, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of food. Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and food preparation areas is essential to meet sanitation standards.

Additionally, your passion for food and dedication to your craft will shine through as you assist with school events. To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience as a Cook, ideally within a school or institutional setting. Food hygiene and safety certifications are essential, ensuring that you have the knowledge and expertise to maintain high standards in the kitchen. Your ability to work well under pressure and adhere to strict schedules will be crucial for delivering meals on time. You will also need to have an enhanced DBS certificate.
