When it comes to securing a new Account Executive role, inheriting a portfolio from a retiring colleague is one of the safest bets going! Your time can be spent really getting to grips with your clients, without fear of the departing Exec’ trying to pick them back up post-covenant.This is exactly the scenario within the Leeds office of one of the world’s most prestigious brokers; one that controls perhaps the largest portfolio in Yorkshire, including 'trophy accounts’ pertaining to some of the region’s largest and most prestigious privately-owned and publicly-listed companies.The role:
- Acting as the lead point of contract on a portfolio of corporate clients generating circa £500K income, with individual clients ranging between £25,000 - £70,000.
- Whilst there is scope to tweak the portfolio to reflect your experience, skills and experience, you are likely to inherit clients from a range of industry sectors, both blue and white collar.Some clients may be UK-domiciled with complex global exposures, others may be 'reverse flow’ and originate overseas.
- You will build great relationships with clients, understanding their appetite for risk and ensuing that their programme reflects this.
- Developing an understanding of the ever-changing risk landscapes that your clients operate in, and suggesting innovative ways to mitigate these, such as risk management and risk transfer services.
- Working with a dedicated team of Corporate Brokers and Account Handlers, ensuring that all mid-term amendments, renewals and associated administration is conducted swiftly, accurately and compliantly.
- Producing a range of management information, reports and documentation that is highly professional, easy to understand for stakeholders (internal and external) at all levels and distributed in a timely fashion.
The candidate:
- Ideally, working as an Account Executive at present, but we will consider applications from Account Handlers, as well as those individuals currently working within a claims or underwriting environment.
- Au-fait with all common commercial covers, such as Property, Liability, Commercial Combined, Professional Indemnity, D&O and Cyber.
- Whilst this is not a business development role, you will be expected to grow your account through cross and up-selling ancillary services.
- Able to build rapport with clients with 7 or 8 figure turnovers; often highly educated and sophisticated insurance buyers.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to deliver engaging, informative and professional presentations.
