The Role
My client, a progressive and entrepreneurial LLP, formally established its corporate finance offering in 2019 leveraging on its unrivalled reputation as the trusted advisor to, and contacts in, the tourism sector and now seeks an experienced corporate finance associate/manager to take the function to the next level. The firm now has the basics in place and, with an aggressive growth plan to establish itself as a corporate finance "hub", the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the future plan by taking full ownership of the corporate finance activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Corporate Finance Director, with responsibility for 1 direct report.
- To mentor and manage the analyst coupled with developing their financial modelling skills.
- Building advanced Microsoft Excel based financial models and model testing.
- Preparing technical valuations using a range of methodologies, including discounted cash flow, market multiples and asset-based approaches for companies.
- Mergers and acquisitions related advice, including the preparation of information memorandums, buyer and industry research, client management, DD support.
- The preparation of client proposals, strategic value analysis, strategic planning, feasibility and business case assessments for projects of scale and significance.
- Experience in Transaction services (e.g. Financial Due diligence (a bonus).
The Successful Applicant
- A qualified accountant or equivalent.
- Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience in deal advisory, particularly on the sell side engagement.
- Experience of what best practice in larger CF functions looks like as this role will be pivotal in the growth plan to scale the function up.
- Evidence of taking ownership of, and driving forward, a corporate finance team/division.
- Strong financial modelling (Excel) ability with the ability to actively develop the current suite of models.
- Sociable and personable, a "people person" with excellent communication skills.
- Flexible and happy to "muck in" as required during down times.
- Comfortable networking with clients as required as there will be the opportunity to develop new business.
- Self-starter, comfortable working to a common goal whilst working in a relaxed working environment with emphasis on life work balance!
